It examines how misinformation affects public perception and behavior, the effectiveness of various correction strategies, and the need for scientific research to address misinformation within a broader socio-political and technological context. The authors argue that combating misinformation requires integrating technological solutions with psychological insights, proposing an interdisciplinary approach called “technocognition,” and offer recommendations for addressing misinformation in the current media and societal landscape.
