This paper discusses the need for agricultural extension agencies in low-income countries to evolve from traditional roles to more dynamic ones that support interactive communication and mediation among stakeholders. Focusing on Bangladesh, it examines how a public-sector agency has adapted its roles to enhance agricultural innovation through a major project. The role adjustment is highlighted as crucial for fostering collective actions and improving performance to meet client needs.
