This paper investigates the memory conformity effect, where individuals’ recollections of an event, such as a crime, can be influenced by discussing it with others. The study aims to enhance the quality of witness testimony by evaluating three methods designed to mitigate this effect: providing an extended warning against misinformation, educating participants about memory functioning, and motivating them to resist social influence. Using the innovative MORI technique, the experiment demonstrates that the extended warning effectively eliminates the memory conformity effect, while the other two methods reduce it but do not fully eliminate it.
