This paper critiques the misleading portrayals of climate change in popular media, particularly focusing on the film The Day After Tomorrow and Michael Crichton’s book State of Fear. The author reflects on how these narratives can inadvertently shape public perceptions, leading to a diminished belief in the likelihood and severity of climate change. It argues that the misrepresentation of scientific facts in such works can undermine the credibility of climate science and mislead the public regarding the urgency of the climate crisis.
