Title

Climate change communication: what can we learn from communication theory?

Summary

This article explores several  approaches and theoretical frameworks used within the climate change communication literature for conveying climate science to the public. It argues that  communication theories are often used inconsistently, treating them as an ad hoc toolbox . Rather than operating in separate ontological and epistemological perspectives, it proposes a meta-theoretical framework rooted in conceptualizing communication as a process of producing shared meanings.
