Title

Social network analysis of spreading and exchanging information on Twitter: the case of an agricultural research and education centre in Mexico

Summary

This paper investigates how a research and education center in Mexico utilized Twitter to connect and engage within an agricultural research and education community. Through Social Network Analysis (SNA) of 1585 tweets, the study reveals different roles in the interaction network: some accounts act as information creators, others as consumers and diffusers, and a few serve both functions. The research highlights the importance of fostering network interactions by engaging multiple accounts and promoting social media use to increase connectivity and information dissemination. Additionally, the paper demonstrates how strong and weak ties within the network influence the spread and strength of connections
