Digitalization in agriculture is often seen as a revolutionary change, but its social impacts and power dynamics remain underexplored. This review identifies five patterns of inequality associated with digital agriculture, including disparities in technology development, benefits distribution, data sovereignty, digital literacy, and problem-solving capacities. It also highlights emancipatory initiatives that challenge these inequalities, though their impact is limited by entrenched corporate power, suggesting that digital technologies often reinforce existing power relations rather than revolutionizing them.
