Title

Post‐truth and anthropogenic climate change: Asking the right questions

Summary

This paper discusses the intense debates around climate skepticism and denial within the context of post-truth culture and argues that these are misguided. It posits that there was never a straightforward relationship between scientific evidence and decision-making. Instead, it suggests that public discussion should focus on the uncertainties and potential outcomes related to climate change, emphasizing precautionary measures and integrating ethical and political values to promote minimal consensus on actions to take.
