Title

The paradox of digital participation and misinformation: Lessons from online agri-food communities of practice in Trinidad and Tobago.

Summary

The book chapter explores the challenges farmers face with digital participation, particularly focusing on information credibility and bias. It highlights that many agricultural initiatives focus on improving farmers’ use of digital platforms (DPs), but little research addresses the risk of misinformation exposure through these platforms. The study investigates the social media behaviors of members in online communities of practice (OCoP) in the agricultural sector, their perceptions of agri-food misinformation, and its impact on digital participation.
