  • GMOs are used only in industrial, chemical-intensive agriculture.

The technology of genetic engineering can be used in multiple ways, including reducing pesticides. Today many GMO crops are being bred in developing countries by public sector scientists who are working to…

  • GMOs are not adequately tested

Governments everywhere employ strict biosafety protocols to ensure that any new GM product poses no threat to human or animal health, or the environment. These protocols include laboratory and field tests that…

  • GMOs are harmful to the environment.

Farmers who grow GMO commodity crops, like soy and corn, do less tilling, which reduces topsoil loss, erosion, and the associated runoff of fertilizer. They also can cultivate pest-resistant GMO crops, like…

  • Gm crops are too new, so we don’t know if they’re safe.

  • GMO Crops Are Dangerous Since They Contain Toxic Substances

Some GMOs — for example, a variety called Bt corn — actually do contain a pest-killing toxin. That may sound pretty dangerous, until you stop to consider that unlike, say, chemical insecticides…

  • There’s Solid Evidence That GMO Foods Cause Cancer

Not exactly. A 2012 French study found that rats fed a lifetime diet of genetically modified corn that made it resistant to the herbicide Roundup— or else given water containing Roundup —…

  • Gmos aren’t as nutritious as traditional crops.

FACT: GMO CROPS HAVE THE SAME NUTRITIONAL VALUE AS TRADITIONAL CROPS. IN SOME CASES, THEY’RE BRED TO BE EVEN HEALTHIER.[4][5] Along with being safe, GMOs are also just as healthy as traditional…
